Amref Health Africa is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of HR Manager, Tanzania Country Office. The successful candidate will provide strategic and professional support to Amref Health Africa in Tanzania by instituting effective human resources programmes and services that will attract, develop, retain and empower effective and productive workforce.

Purpose of the Job

  • To provide strategic and professional support to Amref Health Africa in Tanzania by instituting effective human resources programmes and services that will attract, develop, retain and empower effective and productive workforce.
  • Provide managerial and technical advice and implementation of HR initiatives and policies across the country programme

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership Development

  • Develop the Human Resource section of the business plan in alignment with Country strategy, implement appropriately and regularly review to ensure the accomplishment of Human Resources objectives; and
  • With corporate HR support the development of organizational development, long-term directions that are aligned with the organisation’s strategic direction

Recruitment, Selection, and placement

  • To ensure recruitment of suitably qualified staff to fill the positions for all identified and approved vacancies through an effective, efficient and transparent process;
  • Ensure that the organization has a competitive employee’s remuneration /benefits package that presents Amref as the employer of choice;
  • Ensure job descriptions are available, clear and aligned to strategic objectives for all roles;
  • Manage the recruitment approval process in line with policy guidelines;
  • Ensure that all new staff is effectively inducted into the system and progress monitored regularly. Liaises with SMT to ensure the right numbers and quality of employees are maintained at all times;
  • Ensure staff rationalization in line with the country programme achieved by aligning all staff to the right positions based on competencies and strengths;
  • Carry out an HR gap analysis and identify staffing needs regularly;
  • Create an approved, updated and effective organizational structure and other departmental structures that will support the overall programme strategies of Amref;
  • Provide statistical information and HR forecasts to management on a regular basis to support the decision-making process;
  • Active participation in the proposal writing process to ensure that all staff requirements are catered for
