Tanzania Teachers’ Union (TTU), which operates in Tanzania Mainland only. is a registered trade Union that recruits its members from the teaching profession and it has full-time staff in every region. In Order to improve its Services to its members, the Union seeks to recruit dedicated, self-motivated, highly committed and well-experienced staff to fill the following vacancies based at its headquarters in Dar es Salaam:-

ICT OFFICER -1 POST

Overall purpose

ICT unit is the innovative resource that continuously enhances Service delivery using information computing and accountable for implementing information System.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of the ICT Unit
  • Updating ICT disaster recovery plans
  • Updating ICT governance framework
  • ICT budget project Strategie and network capacity planning
  • Enforce and updating of U policies (compliant to Auditor general)
  • Liaise with ICT service providers and vendors
  • Legalization of all Software
  • Support, maintain and monitoring of applications or file Servers
  • Web maintena nee and development
  • Monitoring the performance of the network and access control to the network
  • Provide assistance to end-users for instance to offer time and efficient Support to end user.
  • Server hardware and Software
  • Support maintain and administrate Server hardware and Software
  • Provide input in the procurement of hardware and Software keeping economies of scale and new trends of technology or mind.
  • Network security

Pro-actively administrate the security of Server Systems, messaging, firewalls and hosted Systems against any kind of threats which can destroy the data.

  • Disaster recovery

Maintenance and Organization of disaster recovery preparedness for Systems and critical data relate to database and mapping sdution.

  • Monitoring and logging

Review and maintain netwtxk logging and monitoring (i.e Server performance monitors).

  • Information and research gathering

Stay current with technology changes applicable Systems, industry trends and development especially in networking infrastructure and new wireless netwtxking trend.

  • Documentation

– Assistance with the creation, format and of network maintenance

Maintain primary and secondary data communication 24/7/365 hours internet access High exposure to Microsoft Windows (current) intel based desktops, laptops hardware and Computer peripherals like Printers, plotters and photocopiers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. Information Technology, or Computer engineering
  • Teachers with qualifications mentioned under this post are highly encouraged to apply.

General Requirements
