IRRIGATION ENGINEER (2 POSITIONS) – BABATI, MANYARA
The Irrigation Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of irrigation projects for distributing and transporting water to plantations/farms, planning and designing irrigation fixtures, and installing fixtures to ensure effective accomplishments of the farming requirements and specifications.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading the irrigation infrastructure design and construction including the management of technical engineering staff, developing specific work plans, and delivering project results.
- Provide technical guidance on engineering best practices for irrigation infrastructure design, construction, and management.
- Integrate sustainable water management and conservation approaches in irrigation infrastructure and engineering activities.
- Ensure that irrigation infrastructure surveys, supporting studies, due diligence assessments, and other activities/outputs satisfy the environmental and contractual requirements of the plantations/farms.
- Review and assess overall plantation/farm-testing processes, results, and provide resolution.
Job Requirements:
- Relevant Degree/Diploma in Irrigation Engineering or related qualifications.
- At least 3+ years post experience in a similar position.
- Proficiency in using scientific tools and software for data analysis.
