IT Associate, Central Services Unit

Position Overview:
We are looking for an IT Associate to join our Central Services Unit team in Tanzania, specifically in the Dar es Salaam office. The role includes various administrative IT tasks and first-level helpdesk support.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Handle first-level helpdesk calls to assist users with IT issues.
- Deploy desktops and laptops as needed.
- Manage procurement from various suppliers for IT goods and services.
- Make physical access changes as required.
- Perform ad hoc server management tasks (e.g., OS upgrades, troubleshooting).
- Troubleshoot internet connections and liaise with suppliers.
- Coordinate backup administration tasks assigned by the Backup Administrator.
- Continuously maintain and improve KPMG systems.
- Administer the IT Helpdesk, ensuring issues experienced by staff are sorted or escalated for resolution in accordance with IT SLA.
- Advise on IT policy matters and provide first-hand support regarding IT issues.
- Maintain effective communication and commitment to the goals of the business unit.
- Train end users on how to utilize deployed technologies.
- Ensure that all machines connected to the network conform to KPMG standards.
- Participate in the support of different software implementations within KPMG, including the installation and maintenance of workstation software and mobile applications.
- Liaise with third-party vendors to ensure outsourced services meet quality standards as stipulated in service level agreements.
- Keep up with developments in the IT industry and adopt best practices.
- Maintain an inventory of all software, servers, laptops, and network devices.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or any related field.
- One year of experience in managing IT infrastructure or a related field is an added advantage.
Skills Required
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Network management.
- Software management.
- Hardware repair and management.
- Office 365 apps management.
- Cloud management and infrastructure (beginner level).
- IT inventory management and printer management.
- Provide first-level support for all network issues.
- Manage and troubleshoot routers, access points, wireless controllers, and switches.
- Maintain an inventory of network devices and software.
Soft Skills:
- Good spoken and written English language skills.
- Ability to multitask and undertake multiple parts of engagements.
- Team/engagement management skills.
- Good team player with demonstrable enthusiasm, drive, and initiative.
- Ability to interpret complex data.
