Job Summary

IT Manager at MS TCDC oversees and optimizes the organization’s technological infrastructure, managing computer networks, software applications, hardware, and IT resources for seamless operations. They develop and implement IT policies, manage budgets, evaluate new technologies, and provide technical support. Additionally, they maintain the organization’s homepage to ensure effectiveness. Aligning IT strategies with MS TCDC’s mission, they prioritize data security and regulatory compliance to support organizational goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of IT strategies aligned with MS TCDC’s mission and objectives.
  • Oversee the smooth operation of MS TCDC’s entire Information Technology system, ensuring seamless operations and internet connectivity.
  • Manage and optimize computer networks, software applications, hardware, and other IT resources to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures tailored to MS TCDC’s specific needs.
  • Efficiently manage IT budgets, licenses, and contracts to maximize resources and investments.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff members, including troubleshooting and training.
  • Maintain MS TCDC’s homepage, ensuring it is up-to-date and functioning effectively.
  • Collaborate with the training department and digital learning team to integrate IT into training for blended learning.
  • Support the development and implementation of digital learning initiatives, including online learning activities and platforms.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Operations and Finance to prepare annual work plans and budgets.
  • Manage and repair equipment within the Learning Centre, investigating and resolving maintenance and repair issues.
  • Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations, including the implementation of security protocols and measures.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks as directed by the line Manager or Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive IT experience, including multi-office environments and management of local area networks.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in administering Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operating various systems and software.
  • Proficiency in digital educational initiatives is advantageous.
  • Experience working with multinational organizations preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and time-management skills.
