Leaf Qualify Buying Manager

You will be joining the Leaf Qualify Department reporting to the Leaf Qualify and Planning Manager in Morogoro

This position is responsible for:

Carrying out quality assessment of all tobacco during productions shifts prior to processing to ensure blend consistency and JTI grade standards requirements achievement and constantly monitoring quality checking, defects checks, and NTRM removal by factory quality checkers to ensure  a quality product is processed

Assist in tobacco processing by ensuring that all tobacco is transferred  to the factory for processing following the FIFO principle and in line with regional purchasing ration to ensure effective tobacco blending to achieve balanced color line and nicotine achievement

Providing support and assistance during grade setups, blend setups and IG alignment through collection and assessment of  leaf bundles to ensure the exercises of quality determination and judgment by LPI, GLQ and Quality determination and judgment by LPI, GLQ, and Quality teams are successfully conducted

Providing support to the Processing supervisor through a collection of data during shits to enable blending control and quality performance analysis after every shift.

Compliance with JT’s EHS policy through delivering JTI’s views and positions to key stakeholders in the most effective, appropriate and timely fashion and taking responsibility for EHS in his area of work

Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Key Requirements

·         O Level or A-level Certificate

·         3-5 years experience within the tobacco industry in the tobacco Procurement and processing

·         Basic level of tobacco knowledge

·         Good health, ability to stand and walk for long periods, mental agility for processing.

·         Fluency in English and Swahili(Spoken and Written)

·         Computer literacy including use fo Microsoft Office products(Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
