The School of St Jude is a pioneering leader in charitable education within Africa. Every year we give 1,800 students with free, quality  education, 100’s of graduates with access to higher education and provide more than 20,000 government school students with quality  teachers. Who are you? 

  • A highly-motivated librarian with excellent attention to detail, who loves working with students and staff, and can manage and  organize library resources efficiently. 
  • You are able to develop, monitor, and maintain library systems, manage book inventories, and create a welcoming learning  environment. 
  • You understand the importance of promoting literacy and can inspire students to engage with reading, research, and information  gathering. 
  • A responsible and dedicated individual who enjoys supporting school events, collaborating with teachers, and organizing library related activities. 
  • You strive for academic excellence, encouraging students to explore new ideas and develop a lifelong love for learning 

What we’re looking for 

  • A Tanzanian who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science or a related field from an accredited university  within East Africa. 
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Library management or a related role, preferably in an educational institution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to assist students and staff in finding resources and conducting research. 
  • A well-rounded, independent, and mature individual with diverse knowledge in library and information science, who observes  professional ethics and demonstrates a modern approach to library management, punctuality on tasks and one that can give high  quality reports. 
  • Someone who is capable of leading and writing library procedures. 
  • A librarian with a vibrant, diligent, and approachable personality who fosters a love for reading and learning among students. An individual who is able to adapt to our school’s diverse Policies and Procedures (including working on weekends when required). A skilled person with Oliver Management System, Digital libraries, DDS, stock taking etc.
