WFP Tanzania Supply Chain: Supports refugees in the Western part of Tanzania monthly by implementing the Supply Chain components of food distribution. The Tanzania office plays a major role in supporting regional offices across Eastern (RBN) and Southern Africa (RBJ).

Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

  • Provide adequate support to contracting activities.
  • Monitor contract expiry and allocations under Tariff System Agreements.
  • Support timely ordering and delivery of commodities and supplies.
  • Provide support to logistics operations and activities.
  • Support management of logistics vendors' contracting activities.
  • Purchase order creation and management.
  • Contribute to the drive of continuous improvement.
  • Prepare accurate, comprehensive, and timely reports.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of operational and reporting queries.
  • Respond to technical queries/requests for support.
  • Contribute to budget preparation, monitoring and revision.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory management processes.
  • Collect and compile data, produce reports.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Any other task as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

Education:

University degree in Supply Chain, Shipping, Logistics, Engineering or another related field.

Experience:

At least 1-5 years of responsible work experience in operations and logistics.

Desired Experience:

  • Analytical and conceptual work in support of strategy design and implementation.
  • Coordination of supply chain activities.
  • Experience with process improvement and performance management.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Languages:

Fluency (level C) in English language
