Logistics Coordinator Job Opportunity at Elsewedy Electric

Job Purpose

A Logistics Coordinator ensures the smooth and efficient movement of goods, materials, and services from suppliers to customers. This includes planning and overseeing shipments, managing inventory, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The role requires excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities

Shipment Coordination

  • Schedule and track shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and customers for smooth operations.
  • Address and resolve shipment issues or delays.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and manage stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Assist in inventory audits and ensure data accuracy.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Prepare and verify shipping documents (e.g., invoices, bills of lading, customs declarations).
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.

Vendor and Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with transport providers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements with carriers.

Operational Support

  • Assist in planning and optimizing routes and logistics processes.
  • Use logistics software or ERP systems to manage and track operations.

Reporting

  • Generate regular reports on shipments, inventory, and logistics performance.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement.

Qualification & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics management, or a relevant discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a clearing and forwarding field and East African customs in clearing and freight forwarding practicing certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholder at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent listening and negotiating abilities
  • Excellent organizations skills
  • Good in Microsoft Office suite, Business fluency in English.

Technical Competencies

  • Familiarity with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard customs terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
  • In-depth experience in using Tanzania Customs Integrated Systems (TANCIS)
  • Numerical Acumen; Ability to work with large data volume.
