Overview

CRDB Bank Plc is inviting applications from qualified and experienced candidates ​to fill the vacant positions existing in the Department of Internal Audit. 

The Bank seeks to recruit highly competent, self-motivated and professional individuals to fill the following positions: Manager, Audit Quality Assurance

 

Job Summary

Responsible for assessing whether audit engagements are conducted in conformance with IIA International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing as issued from time to time by the Institute of Internal Auditors as well as those issued by Information Systems Audit and Controls Association (ISACA). Ensure regulatory requirements as well as bank’s policies and procedures are fully adhered to by all members of Internal Audit department. Coordinating closure of root causes of previous audit issues developing and analyzing management information about various audit trends in the Bank. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Assessing whether electronic audit files as regards to planning, execution and reporting have been completed as per the IIA standards and bank’s procedures.
  • Evaluating compliance with IIA standards for audits executed and issuing reports highlighting areas that need improvement.
  • Conducting follow up review to determine the extent to which issues that needs improvement in the audit process have been addressed.
  • Identify possible training areas to auditors in the auditing process and liaise with training coordinator.
  • Conducting follow up audits of Head Office audits and liaising with business leaders to verify whether agreed actions have been closed within the due dates. Due attention should be paid on addressing root causes of issues noted.
  • Developing Management Information Systems (MIS) regarding audit trends such as status of implementation of audit issues, aging of outstanding issues, repeat issues, root cause analysis etc.
  • Assessing the effectiveness and adequacy of follow up procedures for branch operations.
  • Analyzing auditees feed-back forms and compiling reports that identify areas that require improvement in the audit process.
  • Reviewing BOT regulations that affect internal audit process in the Bank and ensure compliance of the same in the audit process.
  • Perform conformance reviews where applicable for implemented and closed key issues.
  • In consultation with the Director of Internal Audit and respective Senior Audit Managers provides leadership to auditors by mentoring and coaching, providing constructive feedback including formal performance management to ensure personal and professional growth of auditors under his/her supervision and mentorship.
  • Lead teams working under his/her supervision ensuring work is completed to the required standard and within timelines provided.
  • Provide guidance, share knowledge and provide training to audit staff on areas of audit emphasis based on quality review conducted.
  • Improving technical knowledge as well as soft skills through self-learning or training including mandatory CPE requirements; and
  • Sharing knowledge with the audit team regarding compliance with IIA standards.

Education Requirements

  • Holder of Masters’ degree in business related field from any accredited University.
  • Bachelor degree in Banking or related business field and from any accredited University.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor(CISA) or Public Accountant (CPA / ACCA).

Experience, Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • Practical experience in conducting coordinating Quality Assurance for at least 5 years preferably in a Bank or Financial Institution setting
  • Demonstrated thorough understanding of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
  • Sound knowledge of Bank of Tanzania Regulations and best Banking practices.
  • Strong Communication Skills, Sound Business acumen and Leadership skills.
