Tanzania Posts Corporation (TPC) is a national designated Public Postal operator established by Act of Parliament No. 19 of 1993 and became operational on 1st January 1994. The Corporation is wholly owned by the Government of Tanzania and is dedicated to improving people’s lives. Currently, the Corporation is inviting qualified team players to join the Corporation’s major transformation initiatives and all the following vacancies;
POSITION TITLE: MANAGER MAILS AND LOGISTICS BUSINESS
QUALIFICATIONS
A holder of Master’s Degree in or Postgraduate diploma in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Science or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution with at least working experience of 7 years of which 3 years at the managerial position.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS
i. To Manage all international mail business competitively.
ii. To Prepare short, medium and long-term plans for the international mail Business.
iii. To Prepare budgeted proposals for development programs and recurrent expenditure.
iv. To Work out in mail/parcel delivery UPU standards which satisfy customer needs and
expectation.
v. To Prepare and control of international airmail routing schedules taking due regard to
economical routes as well as speed, security and reliability of service.
vi. To Implement UPU/Quality Improvement activities (Performance measurements, IBIS,
track and trace, home delivery etc.).
vii. To Prepare international mail accounting in monthly/quarterly as stipulated in the UPU
letter and Parcel post manual.
viii. To Verify incoming international Mail account in monthly/quarterly as stipulated in the
UPU letter and Parcel Post manual.
ix. To Review all mail receipts and forms in time with the UPU requirement.
x. To Give operational guidance to office of exchange according to UPU convention.
xi. To Maintain close liaison with major mail carrier and negotiate mail conveyance contracts
with national carriers in accordance to laid down procedures.
xii. To Ensure that work procedures and regulations are observed at post O‑ces.
Xiii. To Deal with matters pertaining to the UPU and its constituent organs, PAPU, Restricted
Unions as well as other Postal Administrations.
xiv Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
DUTY STATION
The successful candidate will be stationed at Tanzania Posts Corporation Headquarters
Remuneration:
The above post carries competitive remuneration as per Tanzania Posts Corporation salary
structure and incentive package.
