Overview
Twaweza means “we can make it happen” in Swahili. Twaweza works on enabling children to learn, citizens to exercise agency and governments to be more open and responsive in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. We have programs, staff, and offices across all three countries, and a world respected the practice of learning, monitoring, and evaluation. Our flagship programs include Uwezo, Africa’s largest annual citizen assessment to assess children’s learning levels across hundreds of thousands of households, and Sauti za Wananchi, Africa’s first nationally representative mobile phone survey. We undertake effective public and policy engagement, through powerful media partnerships and global leadership of initiatives such as the Open Government Partnership. Twaweza is seeking to recruit to fill positions in the Tanzania Office:
Manager -Sauti za Wananchi (SzW) (Ref 3909)
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, strategic reflection and direction for effective realization of SzW objectives.
- Co-ordinate and manage the SzW survey data collection for all 3 countries.
- Publicize SzW in the region and internationally as an effective, low-cost method to understand and monitor citizen voices.
- Co-ordinate the SzW survey data collection, including management of the monthly data collection calendar and reaching targeted output in a timely manner, for all 3 countries.
Qualifications & Experience
Masters of Arts/Science qualification in social sciences, finance, public policy or related area plus 7 years of relevant work experience in research and analysis. Knowledge of econometric analysis packages e.g. STATA, SPSS.
