Responsibilities

Barbaricum is seeking an experienced Maritime Logistics Assessment Expert to provide maintenance and logistics support for the TPDF Navy. Duties and responsibilities may include the following:

  • Conduct a travel plan for assessments in Group 1 countries (Tanzania, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Senegal, and Togo)
  • Conduct capability assessments focusing on the operational status of the vessels; issues to be addressed to make them fully operational; current spare part inventory and requirements; logistics, procurement, and personnel system associated with maintenance of vessels; and current maintenance life cycle, policies, and procedures to maintain existing vessels
  • Develop training plans, programs of instruction and training schedules for maintenance
  • Supervise staffing and education/training pipeline for maintenance and logistics personnel
 

Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years’ experience in surface maritime domain required
  • Eight (8) years’ experience repairing and maintain both inboard and outboard engines required
  • Five (5) years’ hands-on experience in operations and maintenance of Defender and Shark Boat watercraft required
  • Five (5) years’ experience in unit level maintenance and logistics required
  • Five (5) years working in Sub-Saharan Africa or a post-conflict region (see Attachment 01
  • Two (2) years’ experience conducting maintenance and/or logistic assessments of maritime security organizations required.
  • Professional experience requiring excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Speaks English fluently
