Market Access Facilitator
Reports To: Market Access Coordinator
Location: Dodoma, Zanzibar, Tanzania
Position Summary
The Market Access Facilitator is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of marketing strategies, facilitating market access, and ensuring compliance with local and regional market standards to enhance the competitiveness of horticultural value chain actors in the allocated area of project implementation.
Scope of Work
- Plan and support the implementation of various activities (B2B, B2C, marketplace meetings, etc.) to foster market linkages in the value chain.
- Develop approaches to increase sales volume and investments in selected value chains.
- Collaborate with farmers, AMCOS, buyers, traders, off-takers, processors, and financial institutions to maximize trade opportunities and market linkages.
- Develop on-the-ground linkages between farmers and processors with markets through collective market approaches.
- Support the development and adoption of postharvest technologies (common use facilities, simple machines, packhouses, sheds, etc.).
- Conduct market intelligence surveys on horticultural product opportunities and inform the sector.
- Promote and conduct capacity building on using a Marketing Intelligence System (MIS) and TARIC.
- Support developing market requirement guidelines for domestic and export markets and ensure dissemination to farmers.
- Prepare periodic trend reports to inform buyers/off-takers on horticultural product availability and facilitate business linkages.
- Support value addition activities to reduce food losses by advising processors.
- Address market challenges affecting crop sales through capacity building.
- Collect and analyze market data to inform stakeholders.
- Design and execute market capacity building activities.
- Prepare high-quality activity reports, periodic reports, and success stories.
- Participate in establishing data collection mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree Level: Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, agribusiness, agricultural economics, business administration, economics, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 4 years of experience in the agricultural/horticultural sector in sales, sourcing, and marketing of agricultural commodities.
- Key Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; good planning, coordination, management, and leadership skills; strong interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will be remunerated according to the TAHA salary scale, based on qualifications and experience. Other benefits will be as per the organization's policy.
