The Tanganyika Law Society (TLS) is a bar association of Tanzania mainland, founded in 1954, by the Act of parliament – the Tanganyika Law Society Ordinance, chapter 344 of the Laws. In an effort to improve its Secretariat team, TLS intends to fill the position of Procurement Officer

Overview

Reporting to Business Development Manager the position will be responsible for providing marketing support to a number of business areas within the Law Society. The position is also responsible for internal and external public relations that enhance member engagement and create positive public impression

Minimum Qualification and Competencies

·         Holder of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Journalism/Mass Communication/public relations or Marketing from a recognized Institution

·         Training on Marketing from a recognized institution is added advantage

·         Proven working experience in public relation and marketing fields;

·         Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter etc.

·         Skills in graphics designing is an added advantage and

·         Demonstratable experience in event planning

Key responsibilities

Public relation

·         Coordinate all public relations activities and eent asnd manage all PR issues;

·         Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new cotnracts within business and industry media

·         Manage mediainquiries and interview requests

·         Create content for press releases, feature articles, keynote presentation and speeches;

·         Oversee the publication of TLS monthly newsletter and qurtely Wakili Bulletin

·         Edit and update promotional materials and publications(brochures, videos, social medial posts)

Marketing

·         Design, Implement and facilitate annual markting plan for the organization;

·         Support and facilitate development and implementation of selected markting policies;

·         Translate different TLS business units objectives and strategies to develop brand portfolio objectives and strategies

·         Plan and administer TLS markting operations budget;

·         Negotiate with media agents to secure agreements for translation of materials into other media

·         Provide technical and administrative support to the TLS Markting and public relations Commitee
