MARKETING MANAGER

Nature and Scope

The successful candidate will report to the Director, Strategic Planning and Corporate Affairs. She/he will be responsible for coordinating the bank’s publicity, corporate responsibility including overseeing the maintenance of good relations between the bank and its clients as well as the general public. She/he will be responsible for providing corporate public relations advice, developing and implementing corporate communication strategies. The candidate will market existing services, undertake market surveys aimed at establishing the status, strength, and standing of such services and available opportunities for enhancing and expanding the services and product

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with other departments in the bank to market the bank’s products and services.
• Formulate and implement appropriate marketing strategies and plans so as to attain set objectives.
• Develop advertising opportunities, which involve placing adverts and specialist publication depending on the campaign.
• Evaluate market campaigns and monitor competitors’ activities.
• Layout and design marketing materials, including leaflets, annual reports, calendars, posters and other bank’s documents.
• Organize/supervise and attend events, conferences, meetings, and exhibitions.
• Secure sponsorships to assist with the publicity and funding of marketing projects.
• Provide inputs in formulating the bank’s strategy, policies and procedures to match with customer’s tastes and behavior.
• Manage the bank’s brand dynamically.
• Formulate, recommend and implement public relations policies for the bank covering communication with both internal and external organizations.
• Attend corporate events and public speaking on behalf of the bank, Client/Corporate visits, media gathering and analyses: organize staff communication activities, promotional activities on a corporate level such as public relations campaigns.
• Manage press relations, including preparation of press releases, feature articles, arranging for interviews and public appearances of the bank’s MD and other senior executives.
• Organize and supervise bank displays and other image building materials and events.
• Ensure smooth receipt and dispatch of TIB guests and expatriates on their travel to and out of Tanzania.
• Maintain close and active contact with community leaders to understand the needs of the community and to determine how best the bank might provide support.
• Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time by the Supervisor

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

• Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related discipline from a recognized University/institution.
• Possession of a Master’s Degree, knowledge of Banking Industry and its related policies, procedures will be an added advantage.
• At least eight (8) years working experience in Marketing and Corporate Affairs, four (4) of which must be in a senior position.
• Computer literate.
• Strong interpersonal and organization skills.
• Public Relations management skills, handling mass media issues, skills in formulating and implementing marketing initiatives.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to write documentation in a concise and focused style.
• Must be a team player, very self-motivated and able to manage and prioritize workload with minimum
• Must be computer literate.
