POST: MECHANIC - HEAVY EQUIPMENT (1 Post)
Reports to the Heavy Equipment Supervisor
Core Job Description: Perform maintenance, diagnostics and repair on Heavy tractors, Excavators, wheel loaders, Motor graders, Skid steer loader, Backhoe loader Bulldozers, Cane Loaders and Wheel tractors.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform routine, specialized maintenance/repair and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes and lubrications.
- Review work orders and discuss work with the section Foreman or Supervisors.
- Maintains machine records by recording service and repair and maintain shop equipment, tools, and work environment in an orderly and clean condition.
- Ability to use and follow Workshop manuals/checklists in order to ensure important parts, components, and systems are examined and perform correctly: such as engine, axle, steering, hydraulic circuit, and transmission.
- Diagnose faults on electro-hydraulic circuit systems/components and perform repairs.
- Maintains equipment in good & safe operation condition: listening to operator complains and taking corrective actions.
- Perform any other related work as may be assigned by Supervisor.
