We are recruiting for a skills programme, which aims to enable East African women, men and young people to gain employment and economic opportunities in resource-based industries and adjacent sectors. It will qualify vocational education and training (VET) students and graduates for jobs in the supply chain of upcoming natural resource investments and adjacent sectors, through the establishment of two career centers at public VET institutions and the provision of short technical courses according to the needs of the private sector.

Job Description

The National Trainer: Employability Skills and Career Guidance/Gender Officer will:

  • Deliver counseling/mentoring sessions and assists students/graduates in career decision-making
  • Organise and implement employability skills training, including sessions on English communication skills
  • Prepare students/graduates for internships and participation in the career fairs
  • Be responsible for mainstreaming gender

Job Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, psychology, pedagogy or other relevant fields
  • A minimum of 5 years training experience in English and soft skills and experience in counseling as well as private sector experience
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Kiswahili is obligatory
  • Experience working in the private sector
  • Working experience in Tanzania or East Africa obligatory
  • Right to live and work in Tanzania/East Africa
  • Available to begin work on the 18th of March 2018
