Planting Technician (Soybean and Corn Planting)

Position Overview

Backbone Tanzania is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planting Technician for large-scale soybean and corn planting operations. The role involves overseeing the entire planting process, from sowing to harvesting. The ideal candidate will possess rich technical expertise in agriculture and contribute to the efficient management of our field operations.

Position Requirements

Technical Experience

  • Extensive technical experience in large-scale soybean and corn planting.
  • Proficiency in mastering all stages of the planting process, from sowing to harvesting.

Agricultural Knowledge

  • Solid background in agricultural practices, including soil improvement, fertilization, irrigation, pest control, and other essential agricultural operations.
  • Ability to apply this knowledge flexibly and effectively in practical planting and production.

Education and Work Experience

  • Graduates from relevant agricultural programs with practical experience in large-scale modern agricultural operations.
  • Prior experience in foreign-funded or large local agricultural planting companies is preferred.
  • Foreign nationals who are adaptable to working and living in Tanzania and have relevant experience in large agricultural enterprises are encouraged to apply.
  • Local candidates who have worked in large agricultural companies in Tanzania, especially those involved in modern planting operations, will be given priority.

Skills

  • Strong team spirit and good communication skills.
  • Ability to cooperate effectively with team members from different cultural backgrounds.

Target Candidates

  • Local candidates from Tanzanian enterprises with experience in modern large-scale agricultural planting operations (e.g., Silver land, Tanzanian Cropping, Maximum Agro Resources Limited).
  • Foreign candidates with experience in large-scale planting from regions such as Europe or America, currently working in Africa’s agricultural sector.

Age Requirement

Male candidates aged between 35 and 45 years.

Qualifications and Education

  • A degree in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Professional certifications or additional training in modern agricultural practices, particularly in large-scale planting, are advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary

The salary is approximately 5 million local currency per month. Exceptional candidates may negotiate a higher salary based on their expertise and qualifications.
