Production Engineer

About the Role

HR World Ltd, on behalf of our client in the Manufacturing Industry, is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets, supervising and coordinating inspection and testing activities to enhance product and service quality, and minimizing liability from non-conforming products.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to Security, Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures in line with company guidelines.
  • Meet shift production targets.
  • Analyze product yield reports (daily, monthly, and periodic reviews) and submit reports.
  • Control the generation of defective and non-conforming products and initiate process improvements.
  • Ensure production quality.
  • Control consumption of consumables.
  • Analyze, prepare, and submit customer complaint reports for quality control improvements and preventing recurrence.
  • Handle all services linked to the recruitment process, aligning with the company's strategic direction and HR policy.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate on-the-job training.
  • Supervise housekeeping practices in line with Kaizen principles.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Production Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Must be registered with Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Production Engineer.
  • Working experience in the Manufacturing industry is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in hydraulic machines.
  • Excellent command of English and Kiswahili languages.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • IT literate with experience using databases, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), and other computerized systems.
  • Effective team player with excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
  • Well-organized with an understanding of priorities and changing demands.
  • Excellent planning skills and problem-solving skills.
