The Ariel Glaser Pediatric AIDS Healthcare Initiative (AGPAHI), an affiliate of Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Organization (EGPAF) is Tanzanian led and managed national organization focusing largely on HIV and AIDS and other related health programs. AGPAHI implements all its programs in collaboration with Tanzania Government Entities through the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) and President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO RALG) and other stakeholders. AGPAHI supports the provision of high-quality HIV and other health services and ensures that efforts are well-integrated into existing regional and district health systems.
AGPAHI is implementing various projects that are highly demanding and thus the organization is looking for a motivated, result driven, qualified and competent staff to fill the following positions.

Position Overview:
The goal of the pharmaceutical management and supply chain portfolio is to ensure that supported facilities in the regions offer quality pharmaceutical services and support HIV/AIDS commodities management to ensure quality care for beneficiaries.
The position will have direct and indirect working relationship with the AGPAHI technical team, Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC), Medical Stores Department (MSD), National AIDS Control Program (NACP), USAID/CDC, Regional and Districts Health Management teams, hospitals and health centers offering ART services in the regions mentioned above.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate AGPAHI responsibility in the supported regions ensuring the distributed HIV/AIDS, Family Planning and TB commodities reach to the beneficiaries.
- Mentoring AGPAHI supported facilities staff on good pharmacy practice, clients’ adherence to medication, good dispensing practices, pharmacovigilance and rational drug use.
- Collaborate with Regional and Council Health Management Teams in making sure regions and councils are performing well in supply chain area including implementation of supply chain best practices and solutions.
- Coordinate technical assistance and support to the health facilities on proper documentation of logistics information in the LMIS tools, forecasting, ordering, tracking inventories, and monitoring HIV/AIDS, Family Planning and TB commodities consumptions and stock positions.
- Collaborate with strategic information department at AGPAHI on collection, analysis and transmit data and information related to HIV/AIDS, Family Planning, and TB commodities.
- Maintain a strong and integrated HIV/AIDS, Family Planning and TB commodities supply system with facilities overall pharmaceutical management systems.
- Maintain documentation of monthly and quarterly reports of all implemented supply chain interventions and decision making processes related to the position.
- Support, guide, and serve as a technical resource or participate in direct technical work for implementing supply chain improvement strategies and management approaches in the supported regions.
- Proactively identify opportunities to document and share processes, successes, and lessons learned during the implementation of activities.
- Conduct supply chain training, on-the-job training and mentoring as needed.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor and/or other team members.
Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor of Pharmacy from authorized institutions and being registered by Pharmacy Council with at least 3 years of experience in public health programs or relevant supply chain fields.
- Formal training in Pharmaceutical management and supply chain will be an added advantage
- Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations and other software related to information systems is required.
- NGO experience especially USG funded projects will be an added advantage.
- Ability to travel out of the duty station to support technical supply chain activities in the supported facilities.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of national laws and regulations governing pharmacy services and operations.
- A proven ability to work as a part of a team but be self-managing of own time and results, and to be a proactive and clear communicator.
- Strong preference for a candidate able to work with diverse teams and is a team player, can take initiative, be flexible, adaptable, creative, and demonstrates technical leadership.
- Excellent oral and written communication presentation.
- Organizational skills for both analytical and problem-solving.
