POSITION: Project Cost Controller 

INDUSTRY: Oil and Gas 

REPORTS TO: TBD 

JOB LOCATION: Dar es Salaam 

JOB PURPOSE 

The Project Cost Controller is responsible for monitoring, controlling and reporting project costs to ensure adherence to budgets and financial targets. He/she must establish effective cost control processes, collaborate with procurement teams, and review contracts. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION 

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant field is highly desirable 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE 

• Operational projects in the oil and gas industry 

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE 

• Over 3 years' experience in delivering and supervising engineering orientated projects 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement. Propose and implement initiatives to enhance cost control practices, efficiency, and effectiveness. 
• Assess the financial impact of proposed changes to project scope, schedule, or resources. Collaborate with project teams to evaluate change requests, providing recommendations and cost estimates. 

KEY COMPETENCIES 

• Strong time management and organizational skills. 
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards in the industry.
