OVERVIEW

Apotheker Consultancy (T) is established and incorporated in Tanzania. Apotheker provides technical support, consultancy services and implementation to a range of health programs in Tanzania and beyond with focus on Pharmaceutical services, public health, and general health-related services.

Apotheker is looking for qualified individuals to support activities in one of its projects aiming at improving child and adolescents’ health in Tanzania. Job positions are for offices located in Dar es salaam.

PROJECT OFFICER (RESEARCH SCIENTIST-PHD CANDIDATE) 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Officer will report to Project Lead and will support the project in the following activities

  1. To undertake key elements of management in the project and oversee the key deliverables as part of the project team
  2. Leading innovative qualitative analysis, conceptualizing the qualitative methodologies to be applied amongst communities and key study stakeholders
  3. Support the designing of the realist evaluation framework as part of the project team
  4. Carry out research activities in the study area, analyze data and produce scientific reports
  5. vi) To ensure the study is done according to the protocol and adherence to set standards
  6. To maintain a close professional relationship with the government officials in the study areas
  7. Perform any other project related activities as may be determined from time to time by project lead

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCES

The prospective candidate must be a Holder of Master degree in Sociology or Public Health from a recognized university. She/he must be willing to register for a sandwich Ph.D. program in the areas of Public Health

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  1. Experience in multi-country studies
  2. Ability to lead a mixed method research
  3. Ability to identify problem areas, analyze, innovate and execute ideas as well as impact knowledge and skills
  4. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to work under minimum supervision
