Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Dar es Salaam is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Health Specialist - Branch Deputy at CDC.

Duties

The incumbent serves as a principal assistant and key advisor to the CDC Country Director in the design, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of a broad range of CDC-funded Human and Institutional Capacity Building (HICB) activities in Tanzania.  Incumbent provides leadership and technical oversight in the development, implementation, and evaluation of HICB programs.  The job holder is the key liaison with senior government of Tanzania officials at the highest level. The incumbent works closely with the supervisor to ensure that all program activities contribute to measurable results that are in accordance with agency regulations, PEPFAR strategic objectives, international ethical guidelines and standards for public health care.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

Five years of mid-to-senior level public health experience developing, implementing and evaluating HICB programs or other relevant HIV public health programs that involve coordination with an international agency or implementing partner is required. Two additional years of experience at the supervisory level with multiple staff is required.

Education Requirement:

The position requires a Master’s level degree in Public Health or development.  Specialization in education, health or international development is required.

Evaluations:

Level IV (fluency – speaking/reading/writing) in English (This will be tested) and Level IV speaking/ reading/writing Kiswahili is required.

Qualifications:
