The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi in conjunction with the Aga Khan Health Service in Tanzania invites applications for the following positions to be based in Arusha, Tanzania.
POSITION: RADIOLOGIST
The Incumbent will be acquiring and interpreting various types of medical images including Radiographs, CT and Ultrasound images to diagnose medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of the patient
- Assessment of patients
- Explaining the procedure to the patient
2. Reporting and Diagnosis
- Examining internal structures and functions of organ systems
- Preparing a written report of observation.
- Communicating diagnosis to patient and/or physician
- Recommending radiology procedures for the benefit of the patient
3. Administration of the radiology department
- Coordinating the day to day running of the center
- Ensuring medical policies are followed
- Ensuring availability and control of relevant consumable x-ray supplies in the center
- Planning, organizing and supervising the provision of quality radiology services
- Dealing with patient complaints
- Perform related duties similar to the above in scope and function as required
- Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- MMed Radiology or equivalent
- Certification and registration from the relevant Medical Practitioners and Dentists regulating body
- Minimum experience of five year post qualification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good MS Office computer skills
- Establish a good and lasting professional relationship with referring doctors
