Overview

The Program Officer (PO) will manage the day-to-day operation of program activities for USAID Boresha Afya Project-funded program in Mara region. Working closely with the regional technical advisor and technical staff, PO will provide strategic and programmatic oversight for the design, development, and implementation of the program. PO will also ensure strong collaboration between JHpiego and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare(RHMT, CHMTs, FHMTs) donors and sponsors, and partner organizations. The PO will represent USAID Boresha Afya Project with external partners and contribute to  business and resource development efforts

Required Qualifications

·         A degree in social science or community development or public health. Master’s degree in Public Health will be an added value.

·         A minimum of 5 years experience in developing, providing technical assistance to, coordinating and managing RMNCH programs

·         Demonstrated ability to work ina multi-site team-based organizational structure

·         Ability to envision and communicate new opportunities to the supervisor

·         Ability to write technical sound donor reports and project reports

·         Excellent written and spoken Swahili and English. Presentation, communication, and organizational skills.

·         Demonstrated in-depth understanding of Tanzania healthcare system, particularly the public health system in Tanzania preferred

·         Strong skills in word processing and excel spread sheets

·         Skills in atleast wo or more of th following technical areas: strengthening sevice delivery programs, traingnd, pre-service, education, performance and quality improvement, monitoring and evaluation will be anadded value

·         Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience with USAID programs

·         Experience in RMNCH service deliveries and management
