About the job
We are looking for a Regional Sales Director who is going to be responsible for creating and developing the company presence in the East African territory for wires, cables and electric products. The Regional Sales Manager will work in alignment with the Regional Director to formulate and execute the sales strategy for his/her respective region and will work on expanding the customer basis, by actively prospecting new clients, strengthening our relationship with current customers and representing the company at key industry events.
Responsibilities
- Create a regional sales strategy aiming at growth, inclusive of pricing and a go to market definition.
- Maintain sales pipeline, provide monthly forecasts, and support quarterly and annual account reviews.
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with existing and new distributors.
- Act as a representative of the company at industry events.
- Be responsible for the full sales cycle, from lead generation and order-to-cash cycle, to factory orders management and on-time safe delivery of goods to the end customers.
- Manage a team of 5 people.
- Offer regular analysis and recommendations in line with market trends and performance.
- Recommend new business models according to the market requirements.
Experience:
- Bachelor degree in relevant discipline, a master degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development and sales.
- Previous corporate and hands-on experience of Integration function is preferable.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in East Africa in a related industry is a must.
- Proven experience in people management.
Skills:
- Ability to understand customers’ technical specifications.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills Sales and Marketing — Ability to multitask and work in a deadline-driven, time-sensitive environment.
- Demonstrated success in cold calling, prospecting and closing deals.
- Ability to build pipeline through partnerships, sales development team and own prospecting efforts
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques and sales control systems.
- Relationship building, including established contacts and relationships with potential customers in key markets, and maintaining those relationships over time.
- Fluent in English. Arabic is a plus.
