Project Overview

Americares Foundation Tanzania is seeking a qualified Contractor for the Improvement of WASH-related Infrastructure in 8 health facilities (3 Health Centres, 5 Dispensaries) in Mwanza Region, namely Sahwa Dispensary, Lumala Dispensary, Sanjo Dispensary, Sima Health Centre, Nyakaliro Health Centre, Kiliwi Dispensary, Shishani Health Centre, and Irugwa Dispensary.

The quotation should specify which LOT the application is made for and should be submitted on company letterhead and signed. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions below in preparing your quotation.


Tasks to be Completed

LOT 1

  • Sahwa Dispensary (Nyamagana CC):
    • Construction of De Mort Fort Incinerator (mark III) and Ash Pit.
    • Improve the available Placenta pit by raising edges from the ground.
    • Construction of Pit Latrine (5 Units) and connect with the available septic tank and soak-away pit.
  • Lumala Dispensary (Ilemela MC):
    • Construction of De Mort Fort Incinerator (mark III) and its annexes (Placenta Pit and Ash Pit).
  • Sanjo Dispensary (Misungwi DC):
    • Installation of a massive handwashing point at the point of entry (Four points).
    • Construction of an Underground Rainwater Harvesting Tank of 50,000 litres capacity.
    • Construction of raiser (with stores) to accommodate new storage plastic tank with 5,000 litres capacity.
    • Connect water pipes to OPD and Labor ward buildings.
    • Construction of De Mort Fort Incinerator (mark III) with its annexes (Placenta Pit and Ash Pit).

LOT 2

  • Kiliwi Dispensary (Kwimba DC):
    • Repair of the available rainwater harvesting tank and gutters.
    • Construction of raiser to accommodate new storage plastic tank with 5,000 litres capacity.
    • Connect water pipe to supply the RCH and OPD buildings.
  • Shishani Health Centre (Magu DC):
    • Construction of Underground Rainwater Harvesting Tank of 100,000 litres capacity.
    • Construction of raiser (with stores) to accommodate new storage plastic tank with 5,000 litres capacity.
    • Connect water pipes to maternity ward building.
  • Irugwa Dispensary (Ukerewe):
    • Construction of Pit Latrine (5 Units) and connect with water system.

LOT 3

  • Nyakaliro Health Centre (Buchosa DC):
    • Construction of Underground Rainwater Harvesting Tank of 100,000 litres capacity.
    • Construction of raiser (with stores) to accommodate new storage plastic tank with 5,000 litres capacity.
    • Connect water pipes to OPD and maternity ward buildings.
    • Construction of De Mort Fort Incinerator (mark III) with its annexes (Placenta Pit and Ash Pit).
  • Sima Health Centre (Sengerema DC):
    • Construction of De Mort Incinerator (using the laid down foundation).
    • Improvement of existing Placenta pit and Ash pit.
    • Installation of water pipes and washing basins to OPD-laboratory.

Delivery Information/Instructions

  1. All completed works shall be branded as per Americares branding and marking policy.
  2. The timeline for project completion is 90 calendar days after acknowledgment of receipt of the first installment.
  3. Contractor must include a repair and defect warranty period of 3 months within their bid to cover all completed works within the RFQ.
  4. Americares will provide no more than 35% of the full cost upon signing of the contract.
  5. Americares staff must be present during the completion of works to verify and sign off on completed works.
  6. The quote must be valid for 30 days from the date of submission.
  7. The contractor must be legally registered by the Contractors Registration Board (CRB) with at least class six and recognized under the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Evaluation Criteria

Offers will be evaluated based on their responsiveness to the specifications, qualifications, and experience of the vendor, price, delivery time, and related criteria.


Submission Deadline for the quotes:

The quote must be received no later than 17:30 hours East African Time on Monday, June 17th, 2024

Quotations submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Submission Questions and Clarifications

Inquiries/questions must be received no later than June 12th, 2024, and must be submitted via e-mail to BNgereza@americares.org Cc: infotanzania@americares.org Requests beyond this date will not be addressed. AMERICARES will review and respond to all questions in one all-inclusive written document to be shared to all prospective bidders by June 14th, 2024.

 

Any costs incurred for the submission of the proposal will be covered by the Offerors. The Offerors are required to fully review all instructions and specifications contained in this RFP including attached annexes. Failure to do so will result in proposal elimination.
