NIMR - Mbeya Medical Research Centre (MMRC) is one of the NIMR centres located in Mbeya within the Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital compound. The centre is currently conducting research on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis as well as other diseases of public health importance.
NIMR Mbeya Medical Research Centre is looking for qualified, experienced and motivated persons to fill the below vacant positions whose duty station will be in Mbeya City

Research Nurses – HIV Clinical Research (2 Posts)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.

· Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.

· Record patients' medical information and vital signs.

· Provide the patient with drugs as prescribed by study physician

· Collect samples from the patients as directed by study physician

· Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.

· Direct and supervise less skilled personnel, or supervise a particular unit on one shift.

· Prepare patients for and assist with, examinations and treatments.

· Any other task as assigned by your superior from time to time.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
· Holder of diploma in nursing from reputable organization

· S/he must be a registered nurse

· Have an interest to be involved in treatment and care of TB and/or HIV positive patients both on an in-patient and out-patient level

· Preferably have at least one year work experience

· Further formal training in HIV (e.g. counseling, treatment literacy, PMTCT, PITC) would be an asset.
