Job Description

Coca-Cola Kwanza Limited has an exciting opportunity in Manufacturing department. We are looking for a talented individual with the relevant skills, experience and expertise in Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality to be based in Mbeya. The successful candidate will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The role  will manage total SHEQ function in order to ensure full compliance with all local, BP and KO requirements related to quality, health, safety and the environment. The overall goal is to support the team to deliver according to their KPI’s and keep the employees motivated to do their best. This team’s coaching role extends to the manufacturing teams to ensure that Quality at Source is implemented as well as the development of Co-packers.

The role will be also responsible for;-

  • Align Quality Goals and Objectives with Business Strategic Objectives
  • Drive a Quality Culture through the Organisational Understanding
  • Drive a Safety Culture though the Organisational Understanding of the systems
  • Develops and implements KPI’s and reporting systems aligned with internal Management, CCBA and Coca-Cola Requirements. (Reporting systems to include all Quality, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability parameters such as water usage, energy usage, plant waste and recycling).
  • Ensure that Product and Package Quality standards are established and monitored for Mineral Water plants according to legal, internal and Coca-Cola Requirements.
  • Ensure that the Coolpix Technical Manual is maintained, trained and rolled out to the relevant outlets.
  • Ensure that ingredients and package quality is monitored to agreed standards for all internal products and co-packer operations.
  • Ensure that the Central Micro laboratory is managed to supply a testing service for co-packer operations, internal requirements and additional trade samples.
  • Ensure Good Laboratory Practices are implemented in the laboratory.
  • Ensure Process Capability programs are implemented in both plants on agreed parameters.
  • Ensure that a Trade Quality program is established and implemented
  • Leads implementation of Quality at Source and develop Quality Assurance functionality at the plant.
  • Establish, maintain and implement a documented management system that includes all Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety as well as Environmental requirements.
  • Requirements must meet all relevant Legal, CCBA internal and Coca-Cola Requirements.
  • Ensure that all validation requirements for new processes and equipment are followed as per agreed protocols.
  • Support and align all systems to the Supply Chain Way principals
  • Lead the work streams for the Safety and Quality pillars and ensure SHEQ team participation in 5S pillars.
  • Ensure continuous improvement programs for Quality Process Capability is established.
  • Facilitate technical problem-solving regarding quality issues
  • Ensure that Improvement processes are in place to improve water and energy usage as well as waste and recycling.
  • Develop and submit the annual business plans/cost plans for approval.
  • Implement and manage the cost plans

Skills, Experience & Education

The incumbent should at least have a Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Food science/technology. The incumbent should also posses;

  • At least 6 -10 years working experience in a relevant SHEQ role in the food industry. With At least 5 years in a supervisory role
