Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities, including obstetric fistula repairs. Job Description
The Social Welfare & Counselling Officer II at CCBRT hospital is responsible for providing compassionate and effective social welfare and counselling services while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintaining a high quality of service.
The officer is expected to have a deep understanding of CCBRT services and products, and the targeted patient categories to advise patients accordingly. Additionally, the officer is required to ensure the implementation of the CCBRT subsidized policy and scoring tool, support donor-funded patients, and identify compelling stories of patients who have benefited from donor funds.
Specific Accountabilities
- Provide compassionate and effective social welfare and counselling services.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain quality service standards.
- Understand CCBRT services and products, and advise patients accordingly.
- Implement the CCBRT subsidized policy and scoring tool.
- Support donor-funded patients and identify compelling patient stories.
- Ensure compliance with donor criteria and reporting requirements.
Person Specification
- Education:
- Diploma in Social Work or Sociology with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Degree in Social Work or Sociology with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience:
- Experience working in hospital settings is an added advantage.
- Additional relevant courses are an added advantage.
- Skills:
- Compelling and empathetic nature.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Computer literate.
