Job Purpose
To provide technical support to all users and other IT department units through infrastructure installation and maintenance in accordance with Group Standards and policies. In addition, Infrastructure Specialists will ensure that all Infrastructures related incidents/faults are prioritized for resolution in order to minimize downtime. This also includes appropriate escalation of issues through Team Leader Infrastructure as necessary
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Review fault/incident logs to ascertain and address all infrastructure related issues
- Conduct scheduled maintenance on all infrastructure
- Provide after-hours support in line with Service Level Agreements to ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensure all faults/incidents are resolved within agreed SLAs and escalate all faults/incidents to Team Leader
- Monitor all LAN/WAN activity to ensure high availability of service
- Conduct security checks on the bank’s infrastructure as directed by Team Leader
- Execute maintenance activities to ensure high availability of Live and contingency equipment
- Administer all Domain users and equipment
- Installation, support and maintenance of all infrastructure components, including Computers (desktops, servers and laptops),
- Telecommunications (Voice and Data), channels/equipment, Printers etc
- Install and configure Microsoft Office products, operating systems and other software products according to Group standards
- Conduct periodic checks on the installed infrastructure and produce reports as directed
- Deploy security patches and anti-virus software for all machines in the network
- Configure routers, switches and other network accessories in line with Group standards
- Implement change requests related to infrastructure
- Participate in project implementation as assigned
Preferred Qualification and Experience
- BSc qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or related field
- Certification/Active Membership of a professional organisation would be an added advantage
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Technically competent with knowledge of systems management, development and implementation methods and infrastructure
- Must have knowledge of the bank’s Core systems
Knowledge/Technical Skills/Expertise
- At least one year experience in any of the following areas: IT security, Infrastructure, Technical, support, Systems
- Administration, Applications support, Electronic Banking/Channels Support, Programming, Database Administration, Systems Analysis
- Banking/financial industry experience would be an added advantage
