General Purpose
The scope of the Transition Manager is to identify, plan and manage Transition for a large Network and/or Service Operations. He /She will undertake gap analysis of current set-up compared to Nokia Operation Model. Both existing and new Nokia Network and/or Service Operation cases which are in scope. In the sales phase the experienced Tools/Transition Specialist will assist the bid team in identifying and quantifying potential efficiency elements, and draft a high-level transition plan for the activities. The individual should have very strong NOC background and who is conversant with Processes and tools of ITIL standards.

Main Responsibility Area
The transition activities fall into two main groups
Assessment of current NOC & overall Tools set-up
- Gap analysis Analysis of difference between the current Tools set-up and the TO-BE set-up MS NOC Operation Model (Local/ GDC). Hereunder estimation of the cost related to planned initiatives, schedule and return of investment.
- Operations efficiency assessment Assessment of current running operations according to global guideline, including LEAN methodology. Identification and management of current “pain points” in the operations e.g. Inefficiency, waste, inflexibility. The assessment will define a limited number of initiatives targeting the area’s most beneficial for cost efficiency rework. Initiatives include estimation of cost and return of investment
- Drive the creation and agreement of a final list of initiatives in form of various tools & processes each with cost/benefit analysis, for steering group approval and later implementation.
- Creation of detailed Tools Transition plan for the agreed NOC Model based on the agreed list of initiatives
Project management of the agreed NOC/GDC Model initiatives - In alignment with the Operations director, drive the project management of the Tools/Transition initiatives for well-planned and smooth change according to transformation plan, Nokia standards and values and with as little impact of the day-to-day service delivery as possible.
- Cost & savings follow-up during the Tools transition/transformation period. Long term efficiency target setting and establishment of follow-up and reporting. All relevant items for the Tools transformation must be taken into consideration, normally also involving highly skilled teams from functional managers in the MS organization, local/regional/global service management, etc.
- Tools/Transition Specialist will use parts of the time to update the global tools/transition framework, documenting best practices and developing guidelines.
- The individual needs to have experience of 10 to 12 years minimum in Telecom Operator or Vendor environment.
- Minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred Masters).
- The position warrants to engage and coordinate with Local, GDC & Regional Services management, Operations directors of various Projects and team, Engagement Lead, Solution manager, CT, Customer contacts, Support functions and liaises with Partners, Subcontractors.
