Tanzania reinsurance company limited(TANRE) was established in line with section 70 of the insurance act number 18 of 1996. the company was duly incorporated as a limited liability company under the companies ordinance CAP.212 in 2002. TAN-RE has been registered to transact reinsurance business in respect of the following classes of business: all non-life insurance business including marine and aviation businesses, all life assurance businesses including pension business.
The company is now inviting suitably qualified Tanzanian candidates to fill the following position
Candidates applying for this post should have the following minimum qualifications:
Possess a bachelor's degree or its equivalent or Advanced Diploma in Insurance and Risk Management from a recognised institution plus ACII or its equivalent with 5 years experience in insurance / Reinsurance company or should possess ACII or its equivalent with 7 years relevant experience in an insurance/reinsurance company. He/She must be a computer literate
Duties and Responsibilities
- Solicit and receive treaty and facultative business offers and analyze them;
- Preparation of renewal and new business quotation proposals.
- Review facultative acceptances regularly ahead of renewal and review treaty acceptances annually and analyze treaty slips
- Reviewing the debit/ credit notes and cover notes to ensure that they are correctly raised
- Preparation of closing slips and endorsements
- Updating facultative, cessions and large risk registers on a quarterly basis; including risk apportionment;
- Ensuring the proper processing of all technical transactions;
- Ensure appropriate maintenance of all relevant documentation;
- Following up on outstanding facultative premium closings, on outstanding policy cession and treaty statements;
- Market visit
- Provide market information, statistics and reports as and when required;
- Ensure that risk pertaining to the underwriting functions identified, assessed, treated, monitored, and communicated in an interactive manner in line with company’s risk management policies and guidelines;
- Performing any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time by seniors.
