Position: Work Management Planner.
Job Number: GGM-2018-XRI-02.
Number of Positions: 01.
Works For: Senior Planner.

Qualifications: Diploma / A level certificate” or Vocational Certificate in engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Extensive Scheduling / planning experience in engineering /
    maintenance / production / process environment.
  • Experience in various ERP’s preferably SAP.
  • Experience with data collection, upload, and download data Sheets.
  • SAP Programming data entry skills
 

Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of the role is to conduct planning work as a member of the Engineering & Reliability team accountable for the delivery of the planned performance of the department with zero injuries at the lowest practical unit cost. To specify the requirements for safely, correctly and efficiently
completing approved work.

Main or Key Accountabilities

  • Execute the “Plan Work” element of the Business Process
    Framework.
  • Comply with quality specifications and authority levels set out in the documentation.
  • Review the Work Order Task Status Report on a daily basis: To
    assist in prioritizing planning work / to track upcoming work.
  • The plan approved work orders (within the area of accountability) for
    resource procurement and execution prior to the Required by Date.
  • Engage with the work execution teams to contribute to the planning
    details from those expected to do the work.
  • Incorporate work execution team input into planning packages.
  • Obtain sign-off on Work Packages from accountable Senior
    Supervisor.
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful planning of work orders for completion by their required by Date.
  • Plan work to minimize the impact on operating performance without exceeding the ‘required by date’ for work completion.
  • Plan work to minimize the demand for resources without exceeding the ‘required by date’ for work completion.
  • Specify resources as per Planning Process Flow and initiate orders.
  • Ensure work packages comply with applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and use standard work packages to improve the efficiency of the planning process.
  • Support the Scheduling process by ensuring that all required
    resources are planned to ensure the purpose is met.
  • Liaise with departments on the availability of equipment, tools and
    material for planning purposes.
  • Actively identify systems and procedures regularly within the area to
    maximize effectiveness and efficiency within the Company.
  • Ensure that the filing system is kept updated.
  • Maintain user authorization and identification.
  • Ensure the month end submissions are up to date as required.
    Ensure completed work packages are filled in correctly and all
    required information has been provided.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in MS Office
    programs.
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills in English
    Language.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Able to show initiative and coordination skills and be able to interact with a team.
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and
    conflicting priorities.
