JOB PURPOSE

To improve the value and grow youth base, minimize value churn and upgrade customers within the base. Segment owner needs to create a roadmap to deliver the proposition with right product mix, experience, and retention strategies, that are deployed throughout the organization, whilst working with a virtual team across the company encompassing products and services, customer experience, sales & distribution and CVM teams among others.

The ultimate responsibility is to ensure that Tigo Tanzania becomes the operator of choice to Youth Segment

Roadmap and execution plan development

  • Develop and implement a twelve-month roadmap for youth segment in partnership with other business units encompassing a full customer journey from acquisition, value growth and retention (including loyalty initiatives)
  • To create sustainable, profitable, market volume and value growth for the Youth Segment of the Consumer
    Market.
  • Developing initiative to increase customers usage and satisfaction via the customer management
    process, including customer experience.

Acquisition & Penetration

  • Work with internal stakeholders to drive service delivery and availability.
  • Review market and internal conditions and contribute to the development of marketing strategies and
    retail strategies aligned to Tigo Tanzania Value proposition.
  • Evaluate new opportunities for expansion and revenue growth and develop creative and innovative
    approaches to drive sustainable growth in the markets.
  • Drive an increase in Tigo Tanzania Net Promoter Score.
  • Develop strategies to drive customer adoption and usage of the service
  • Develop promotion campaigns to stimulate usage and profitable consumer connections.

Business delivery/ segment ownership

  • Develop detailed plans and programs to achieve set targets for profitability, revenue, value and
    market share, stir up preservation, etc in support of defined marketing strategies
  • Network and build solid relationships with internal units and relevant third parties (e.g. strategic investors, technical and finance partners, business consultants etc.) and develop a close working relationship with relevant information sources to provide an integrated service.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders (departments, agencies/suppliers) to ensure smooth implementation of planned retention initiatives / events / relevant activities and ensure that such initiatives are implemented within budget.
  • Nurture in house relationships with key stake holders to ensure smooth running of account management
    process

  • Create a different experience for the segment, both on different touch points (digital/brick and mortar), and also during the lifecycle. 

Communication/Brand

  • Manage and contribute to the development of communication to drive understanding of value proposition and achieve business objectives.
  • Assist Marketing to develop advertising/communication concepts in support of Tigo tanzania brand
    building initiatives and manage advertising/promotions/events independently from concepts stage (agency briefing–script-storyboard development) to execution (production- flighting).
  • Continuously seek self-professional development to sharpen skills and capabilities in a versatile and evolving digital landscape.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University Degree, preferably in Marketing or communication
  • MBA or Masters preferably in Marketing. 
  • 7+ years of total experience (preferably telecommunications ) and 3 years of segment understanding.
