Application Support EngineerIndustry: Security TechnologyHR World Ltd, on behalf of our client, we are looking for a highly skilled Application Support Engineer to support ongoing Fuel Integrity Solution (FIS) projects in Tanzania. The role will be responsible for incident management, solution monitoring, deployments, quality assurance, documentation, and collaboration with local and global technical teams.Responsibilities:Respond to incidents and problems related to FIS (Fuel Integrity Solution) projectsDevelop, customize, and implement solution monitoring capabilitiesAutomate detections and actions to improve responsiveness to abnormal system conditionsUse monitoring tools to drive analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solvingDeploy new versions of FIS and application modules to operationsUtilize automation tools for scripting and deployment tasksConduct Solution Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate new releases before production deploymentCollaborate with Service Centre, Field Service, Global L2 Support and development teamsDocument technical issues, resolutions, workarounds, and improvementsShare technical knowledge with other Application Support Engineers locally and globallyTroubleshoot and resolve application support issues promptlyInvestigate and identify root causes of critical or recurring application issuesPerform deployment of validated application releases into production environmentsWork closely with project teams on deployments and implementation of new modulesPrepare and maintain technical documentation and work instructionsTrain and coach new application support engineersLead the implementation and support of Business Intelligence platforms in assigned projectsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in IT Application Support, IT Operations, or System AdministrationStrong troubleshooting and debugging experience for complex applications and systemsAbility to interpret logs, perform tracing, and conduct root cause analysisStrong knowledge of Linux and Virtual Machines (VMs)Hands-on experience with Shell scriptingExperience in application deployment and deployment automation toolsCompetent knowledge of at least one database (schema understanding and SQL DML)Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C, etc.)Knowledge in incident management and ITSM tools such as JIRAExperience using documentation tools (e.g., Wiki)Experience with Nagios, Splunk, or similar monitoring toolsKnowledge of Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or related container technologiesExcellent English communication skillsInterested candidates may send their CVs to career@hrworld.co.tz before 2nd December 2025.Only successful candidates will be contacted.
