Overview
Position: Depots Operations Superintendent
Reporting to: Quarry, Packaging and Dispatch Manager
Terms: Two (2) years fixed terms contract
Locations: Tanga
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor
Experience Level: Management level
Experience Length: 5 years
Key responsibility
Manages and controls the effectiveness of cement depots and silos to achieve optimal operating costs and a customer service which supports the set objectives of the commercial team.
Principal Accountabilities
Manage and optimize the capacity of cement depots;
Ensure that depots meet customer service expectations;
Lead and manage people to achieve performance objectives;
Ultimate responsible for safe working practices especially at areas of responsibility;
Environment- ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his/her area and instil environmental awareness culture in his/her area.
Key requirements
Education
Bachelor degree related to logistics or warehousing or
Diploma in accounts, storekeeping or equivalent with sound experience in warehouse management.
Knowledge and Specific Experience
Good working knowledge of depots operations standards.
Knowledge of depots capacities and related design and layout.
Good knowledge of stocks management and supply chain flow between the plant, depots, and customers.
Good knowledge of customer service.
Good knowledge of budgeting process and operational cost controls.
Technical knowledge relevant to the control and maintenance of depot assets.
Road transport loading rules.
Good knowledge of SHEQ and risk management
People management
Good communication and presentation skill, interpersonal and relationship skills.
