Reports to:HSET Manager
The role of HSE/ERT Superintendent exists to support the HSE Manager in ensuring every employee and contractor returns home safely from work, while also protecting the environment. The HSE & ERT Superintendent will assist in driving a safety culture and helping employees understand their responsibilities concerning HSE.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure HSE management systems are implemented and remain effective throughout the life of the mine.
Implement, maintain, and manage HSE-related programs, procedures, and systems.
Coordinate incident investigations to identify root causes, take remedial actions, and follow up on accident investigations.
Contribute to the deployment of Sotta Mining Safety Home Everyday (SHED) program and principles.
Support on-the-job and external OHS training programs for relevant Sotta Mining personnel.
Qualification/ Experience/ Skills:
Tertiary degree in OHS or a related discipline.
Incident Investigation qualifications (e.g., ICAM, Taproot) are desirable.
Experience in Emergency Management, Risk Management, and Behavior-Based Safety is desirable.
A minimum of 8 years' experience in similar roles, with at least 6 years in the mining industry.
Lead auditor competency and qualification.
Duty Station:Nyanzaga Site, Sengerema District, Mwanza
Contract type: Specified Period of Time contract
