Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ICT Officer - System Administration to join our Information Technology & Business Solutions team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and administering the company's ICT systems environment, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance. This role involves analyzing business and technical requirements to design and implement secure, scalable, and efficient system infrastructure aligned with organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deploy, configure, and test server hardware, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and system management tools in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
Monitor system performance using appropriate tools, analyze system metrics and logs, and implement performance tuning to optimize system efficiency and uptime.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and timely restoration of services.
Design and execute system load and stress testing to validate performance thresholds and capacity planning, and escalate complex application issues to vendors where necessary.
Implement and enforce system security controls, including user access management, patch management, endpoint protection, and system hardening.
Develop, implement, and regularly test backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
Coordinate system upgrades and enhancements by working with vendors and service providers to evaluate, test, and deploy new solutions and patches.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including system configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident reports.
Support integration of enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, monitoring systems, and third-party platforms) through secure and controlled interfaces.
Ensure compliance with organisational ICT policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT teams on system-related issues.
Continuously evaluate system performance, recommend improvements, and implement automation where applicable to enhance efficiency.
Perform any other lawful duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL Foundation Certification, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and CompTIA Project+ will be an added advantage.
At least two (2) years of proven working experience as a Systems Administrator or in a related role.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with operating systems, including Windows and Linux environments.
Practical experience in managing and supporting computer networks.
