Description :Organization DescriptionOne Acre Fund is an agricultural NGO in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania that is innovating a new way of helping farm families to achieve their full potential. One Acre Fund invests in farmers to generate a permanent gain in farm income. We provide farmers with a "market bundle" that includes education, finance, seed and fertilizer, and market access. Our program is proven impactful – every year, we weigh thousands of harvests and measure more than 100% average gain in farm income per acre. In 4 years we have grown to serve more than 38,000 farmer families in Tanzania. We hope to serve >100,000 farmers in Tanzania by 2020.Job Title: Product Innovations Phase 2 CoordinatorThe Director will work closely with Product Innovations (PI) leadership on design, planning, and execution and of trial products in the“Phase 2” stage. These trials aim to assess impact potential of agricultural and non-agricultural products at select sites andagro-ecological zones in Tanzania. Phase 2 trials determine whether the impact potential of a product is rigorous enough to movethe product for sale at a district level, and eventually, the products can be offered to nearly 40,000 smallholder farmers. This role iscrucial in ensuring that the most impactful products reach all of our farmers at scale.The position requires at least 25% time observing and supervising field activities with the remaining time spent planning,calendaring, coordinating with other departments, creating materials, and managing a large team of field facing staff. This positionwill also be responsible for the professional development of staff in a growing team. The selected candidate will work withleadership to prepare and plan trials, conduct targeted field follow up, and provide actionable recommendations based on analysisto drive organizational decision-making and product offerings.Duties and Responsibilities:Lead “Phase 2” adoption and logistics trial design, planning, and execution:o Select sites for trials with support from Program Associate and Program Managero Design and finalize farmer training and staff talking points for trial productso Design data collection plan and key performance indicators based on trial objectiveso Recommend staffing needs for trialso Calendaring of activities, deadlines, and decision points for trialso Conduct excel analysis of trial enrollment and produce well-written analysis reportso Effective delegation of tasks and communication with direct reportso Sets and executes short-term (0-6 months) goals for team and trialsSupervise and manage execution of “Phase 2” trials in the field, includingo Track progress of trial enrollment and executiono Troubleshoot challenges in trial enrollment and executiono Manage and update trial management spreadsheetso Conduct 1-2 site visits per weeko Oversee weekly training for Trial Facilitatorso Liaise independently with external departments within One Acre Fund on Phase 2 needsManagement of teamo Hire & manage (in-person and remotely) Trial Managers and Trial Facilitatorso Set Trial Facilitator KPIs, receive KPI reports from Managers, and input KPIso Weekly check-ins with staff, supporting them on task prioritization and planningo Developing professional development plans and facilitate performance reviewsNecessary Qualifications:graduate of a 4-year university (mandatory)Personal or professional experience with agronomy and rural livelihoods (mandatory)2-5 years practical experience working on project management, including preferred experience with:o Managing project calendarso Writing training for field-based staffo Drafting surveys for field data collectiono Data analysis leading to specific recommendationso Fluency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, and Google DocsComfort and sensitivity working in a multicultural environment that spans six countries and two continentsProven ability to teach/mentor othersExcellent ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writingIntegrity in use of One Acre Fund resourcesOpen to feedback, willing to admit mistakes and learn from themFluent Business and Conversational EnglishAbility to live and work in Iringa, Mbeya and/or other regionsPlease upload your Cover Letter and CV to; tanzania.recruitment@oneacrefund.org when applying for this position include into the cover letter a heading "Product Innovations Phase 2 Coordinator", the deadline for this position is April 6, 2018.
