POSITION: SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER
Work Station: Dar es Salaam
Report to: Manager, Network and Systems Engineering
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Centre
Management of Data Centre infrastructure (power, cooling and physical access).
Design and implementation of the processes, procedures and operational management associated with Data Centre security and business
Data Centre documentation and policy creation and
Management of Data Centre service providers; defining and monitoring contractual obligations, performance delivery and service level
Management of infrastructure
Maintenance of professional standards of Data Centres facilities (cleanliness, rack security, shared consoles and keyboards).

Capacity
Network Operations
Planning, procurement, designing, developing, configuring and commissioning networks and associated systems for network monitoring and incident management.
Network documentation and policy design/compliance.
Analyzing, evaluating and monitoring network infrastructure to ensure networks are configured to operate at optimal
Troubleshooting and diagnosing network problems, and determining the most appropriate means of resolving problems and issues to improve network performance.
Monitoring the overall performance of systems to assess the need for updates, upgrades, enhancements, preventive maintenance and new systems, and recommending options for upgrading and improving the performance of
Scheduling and conducting quality audit
Liaising with network carriers and external resources for these organizations; defining and monitoring contractual obligations, performance delivery and service level
Management and reconciliation of network supplier
Design and implementation of the processes, procedures and operational management associated with high levels of network availability and risk management.

Research and development of new products and service relevant to areas of responsibility.
Business case development and evaluation in support of proposed initiatives in conjunction with the Engineering Team
Strategic and Tactical planning and budget development for data centre and network operations in conjunction with the Engineering Team
Pre-sales support for the sales
Technical Skills and Requirements
Experience: At least 8 years working in a technical environment with a focus on network management
Education: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.
Certifications: MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CNE desired
Systems: Windows, Cisco Systems, UNIX, Linux, Novell
Networking: Switches, Routers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, VLAN, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS
