Job Description

CATS Tanzania the leading provider of enterprise software and IT solutions is looking for an experienced project manager in the software and application development field to manage its client project and work with the development team to deliver quality products on-time and on budget. 

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility of the successful management of the software project; and software risk management
  • Works with project teams to decompose requirements into feature deliverables, development tasks and time estimates to complete each task
  • Planning, controlling and coordination of software project team and software project
  • In charge of the robust project execution in line with the project’s targets Ensures software Development Processes are followed
  • Manage client relationship and expectations and represents the team at the customer
  • Run daily morning team standups
  • Reports project status to management and client weekly
  • Planning and controlling of software configuration management, problem-solving management and the software change management
  • Detailed scheduling and budgeting
  • Establish detail break down of the activities to meet the milestones and an understanding of the needed resources
  • Follow activities and spending of the project scope
  • Ensures that software development teams are following appropriate software development processes
  • Participates in the continuous improvement of software development processes

Experience

  • Proven and demonstrable track record of delivering successful software projects (3 reference clients required)
  • 3-5 experience managing software development projects
  • Experience with organizing and motivating teams
  • Ability to form relationships and communicate with stakeholders including product management, sales, marketing, customers and company management
  • Experience with agile project management
  • Open for customer inputs, self-reflective and self-critical personality
  • Previous success in a fast-paced multiple project environment
  • Excellent English and Swahili communications skills(written and spoken)
  • University degree/PMP/Prince2 a plus but not required
